Venice’s Bauer Hotel will shutter in November for a multiyear renovation and reopen as a Rosewood hotel in 2025.
Built in 1880, the Bauer is located within the city’s San Marco district.
The property’s revamp will include an extensive restoration of the building, with the hotel’s original façade, winding staircase and other interior elements to be integrated into the new design.
Following the renovation, the Rosewood Hotel Bauer will comprise just over 110 guestrooms, more than half of which will be suite accommodations.
The hotel will have a casual restaurant and wine bar on the ground floor as well as a Venetian restaurant and rooftop bar.
The property will also feature a rooftop garden, an outdoor pool, a wellness facility and approximately 32,200 square feet of luxury retail space.
The Rosewood Hotel Bauer will join a growing number of Italian properties in the Rosewood lineup, which includes the existing Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany and two other properties currently under development: the Rosewood Porto Cervo in Sardinia and the Rosewood Rome.
