Edition, Marriott International’s luxury lifestyle brand, has planted its second flag in Spain with the soft opening of the Madrid Edition later this month.
The 200-room property is located within the city center, near Puerta de Sol, offering proximity to famous sites like Madrid’s Royal Theatre, Plaza Mayor and Royal Palace.
On the culinary front, the Madrid Edition will be anchored by Jeronimo, helmed by chef Enrique Olvera. Featuring cuisine with traditional Mexican and Spanish influences, Jeronimo will house several distinct dining spaces, including a dark oak-paneled area, a lounge with a green marble bar and a brighter, more casual space outfitted with white marble tables. A fourth dining area, a terrace, will be added later in the year.
A second restaurant concept, Oroya, will be perched on the hotel’s fourth-floor roof. The brainchild of Peruvian chef Diego Munoz, Oroya will specialize in family-style tapas and pisco cocktails, all served in a greenhouse-inspired setting.
Also located on the rooftop will be the Madrid Edition’s pool, where 60 sunbeds and 10 cabanas, as well as poolside cocktails and snacks, will be on offer.
A nightlife-focused entertainment venue will later be added to the hotel’s lower ground floor.
The Madrid Edition’s debut follows the opening of the Barcelona Edition in 2018.
