While most of us are used to budget-friendly holidays away, there are people shelling out thousands of pounds for only one night of luxury.

Merchant Cash Advance has revealed the most expensive hotels worldwide, with one ringing in at £129,561 a night.

From an underwater submarine hotel in St. Lucia to luxury hotels in Las Vegas, the pricy pads on this list have it all.

Lover’s Deep Luxury Submarine – £129,561

St. Lucia

At a whopping £129,561 ($175,000 USD) a night, the Lover’s Deep Luxury Submarine Hotel in St Lucia wins the title of the most expensive hotel in the world.

This 5-star accommodation is beneath the waves where you will be staying in a submarine. The luxury doesn't end there, as this includes a private captain, chef and butler.

Guests also have access to helicopter transfers, beach landings and champagne-soaked breakfasts.

The submarine can be navigated around the Caribbean as per the request of guests or you can modify the voyage to suit your own preferences.

Palms Casino Resort Empathy Suite – £74,035

Las Vegas, Nevada

The Empathy Suite at The Palms, Las Vegas, is the second most expensive hotel room in the world, ringing in at £74,035 ($100,000 USD) a night.

With a two-night minimum stay, the suite is located on the upper floors of the 40-story Palms Casino Resort, with a view of the shimmering lights of the Las Vegas Strip.

Your money will get you two master bedrooms, massage tables, a cantilevered jacuzzi, a salt relaxation room and a private tour of the properties art collection and amenities.

Hotel President Wilson Royal Penthouse Suite – £59,228

Genève, Switzerland

Hotel President Wilson Royal Penthouse Suite in Switzerland is located on the entire top floor of the hotel, offering a panoramic terrace with breathtaking views over Lake Geneva.

Charing £59,228 ($80,000 USD) a night, the wraparound terrace comes complete with a telescope for stargazing on clear nights.

The two master bedrooms have a vast walk-in dressing room and a marble bathroom with a jacuzzi facing the lake.

There is also a private gym, chef and chauffeur available to you at all times.

The Mark Penthouse, The Mark Hotel – £55,526

Manhattan, New York City

The Mark hotels grand penthouse is the largest hotel suite penthouse in the United States, covering a whopping 10,000 square feet.

For £55,526 ($75,000 USD) a night, you can enjoy a spacious penthouse that’s spread out over the top two floors of the hotel with panoramic views of Central Park.

You will have access to five bedrooms, six bathrooms, two wet bars, two powder rooms and a large open plan living room.

What's even more incredible than this is the fact that the living room can be transformed into a full-size ballroom.

Laucala Island Resort Hilltop Estate – £45,311

Fiji

This luxurious villa is located in the opulent green hills of Laucala Island in the Archipelago of Fiji and will set you back £45,311 ($61,142) a night.

You have to seek approval to stay here via an application submitted to the owner, Dietrick Mateschitz, who also owns Red Bull.

The estate is home to a panoramic pool landscape, two spacious guest residences and special services such as a private cook, a chauffeur and a private nanny.

Four Seasons Hotel – £44,465

Las Vegas, Nevada

The Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas is attached to Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, charging guests £44,465 ($60,000 USD) a night.

This Five Diamond rated hotel has a prime location on the Las Vegas Strip and has floor-to-ceiling windows with mountain or street views.

This luxe, art deco style hotel features marble bathrooms and the choice of an Italian restaurant or an upscale steakhouse and a cocktail bar. If that wasn’t enough there is also an outdoor pool, waterside bar and spa.

Grand Hyatt Cannes Hotel Martinez – £39,277

Cannes, France

Located in Cannes, France, Hôtel Martinez is one of the best-known resorts in the Côte D’Azur.

For your £39,277 a($53,000 USD) a night, you can expect to enjoy stunning panoramic views across the ocean from your own private wood-panelled panorama terrace.

Part of its exclusive features include guests having access to a personal jacuzzi overlooking the Bay of Cannes.

You’ll also have king-sized beds in each of the four bedrooms, a separate living and dining room, marble bathrooms and a Turkish bath.

The Muraka Suite, The Conrad – £37,054

Maldives

The Muraka Suite is located in the Maldives at The Conrad and is marketed as the worlds first underwater hotel suite.

Coming in at £37,054 ($50,000) a night, the hotel is two stories tall, with the bottom story being roughly 16 feet below the Indian Ocean.

Here you can live the life of luxury, with access to a private chef, bar, gym, butler and infinity pool. Don’t get too ahead of yourself however, as there’s a four-night minimum stay requirement.
