Woman slammed for expecting pal’s family to pay for everything on holiday

A woman has been slammed by some social media users for refusing to pay for anything when on holiday with a friend’s family.

Carly Clement, a dental assistant from the US, made the shocking statement on TikTok where it quickly went viral.

She said: "POV: You're on family vacation with your best friend [and] her dad keeps making eye contact because told him I didn't bring any money on the trip."

Carly showed a video of her sitting in an eatery before flicking to her pal’s father who glanced over at her.

The clip was viewed a whopping 2.8m times and liked over 650,000 times, reports the Sun.

Thousands of people weighed in on the debate in the comments.

One person commented: “I mean I understand if it was a little kid…but you’re an adult and didn’t bring ANY money?”

“I wouldn’t even be comfortable going without my own money,” added another.

A third fumed: “Adults pay for things until you’re an adult, then you pay for yourself.”

Others said Carly was “entitled” and “wasn’t taught manners”.

Another joked: “Umm, well that’s your last time being invited.”

While a woman advised: “You def take money and at least offer, if they don’t let you then okay but you can’t expect them to pay for everything.”

A fellow parent noted: “I mean as the dad I'll always pay but seeing some consideration or even an ‘attempt’ to pay would tell me the kind of person you are.”

In a follow up video, Carly added that on day three her mate's dad "asked for vallet money".

However, she showed him shaking his head in disappointment as the cash didn't materialise.
