Italy's Amalfi Coast is famous for its colourful houses, beautiful harbours and beaches with a view – but according to some visitors, Brits don't need to venture to Europe for the experience.
Broadstairs in Kent has been dubbed the UK's answer to the Amalfi Coast thanks to its breathtaking beaches, pretty harbours and colourful beach huts, the Express reports.

The coastal town is surrounded by gorgeous bays and coves, with golden sands and swim-friendly waters. There are also heaps of family-friendly restaurants, and plenty of fun attractions in the region so it's therefore no surprise that it remains a firm favourite with both locals and visitors.

For those planning to visit, Booking.com has a handy guide to the best cheap hotels in Broadstairs, while Tripadvisor has a round-up of the best hotels based on holidaymakers' ratings.
It's Broadstairs' beaches which are particularly popular year-round thanks to the soft sands and unrivalled coastal views.
Viking Bay tends to be the most popular option, and in the summer you'll find lifeguards on duty so it's a hit for those planning a summer holiday in the UK.
On Tripadvisor people have shared plenty of praise for the picturesque beach.
One person wrote: "We really liked Broadstairs with its fine beach, nearby restaurants and coastal walks. This is a lovely little place which has not suffered from the ravages of decline like some of its neighbouring towns."

Another added: "This is a nice sandy beach that slopes gently to the sea. There are lifeguards at the Southern end. Unfortunately we saw some glass and metal bottle tops which is a shame."
It's not just Viking Bay that you'll want on your radar though. Joss Bay is another popular option, with one visitor describing it as "one of the most beautiful beaches in England".
Another visitor was equally complimentary, adding: "Great beach. Popular with surfers. Easy parking plus close to Broadstairs. Feels like it's in Devon or Cornwall."
For those hoping to escape the crowds, Stone Bay is a little more difficult to reach and therefore tends to be quieter.
One person explained: "Nestling beneath the cliffs, Stone Bay, which is not as crowded as Viking Bay, can be reached by either walking down the steps at East Cliff Promenade (roadside parking) or by walking along the promenade from the harbour car park. There are brightly coloured beach huts and wide stretches of sand, even when the tide is in. An ideal spot for families. Lifeguards operate from May to September (from 10am to 6pm) and, during the same time, dogs are not allowed on the sands."
