The UK’s most popular hike has a ‘perfect atmosphere’

While the UK has plenty of incredible city break destinations, sometimes there’s nothing better than getting back to nature on a hike.

The expert team at Hipcamp found the world’s favourite hikes by checking which were the most searched for destinations.

While the most popular hike in the world was spectacular Mount Fuji in Japan, a gorgeous Welsh hike landed just inside the top 30.

The Four Waterfalls walk in the Brecon Beacons was the UK’s most popular hike with almost 9,500 searches each month.

The 5.5 mile trail takes in woodland, wildflowers and waterfalls on a hike where tourists have an excellent chance of spotting wildlife.

A tourist ‘Gemma’ wrote on Tripadvisor: “Great walk! So many animals spotted. The waterfalls were stunning and it was a perfect atmosphere.”

Another person ‘CassimaSK’ wrote: “The walk was fabulous, we saw all four waterfalls and enjoyed the stunning river and cave views.”

Tourists can park at the Cwm Porth car park for £4 for the day and the trail takes around three to four hours to complete from there.

The walk is rated around intermediate level and is suitable for dogs. Tourists will see four pretty waterfalls on the walk.

The Brecon Beacons park recently changed its name to Bannau Brycheiniog to “better reflect the park and the world we live in today”.

It’s also a great place to explore by bike and there are also excellent opportunities for fishing in the area.
