South Australia has changed its border arrangements with Victoria.

As of midnight on Thursday, people from Greater Melbourne will no longer be allowed to enter SA unless they are a returning resident, are genuinely relocating or are essential travellers.

Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said authorities were closely monitoring the situation.
