The festive season is almost upon us and you might feel a bit like it’s snuck up on you. After all, we’ve been putting off booking things after Christmas 2020 was cancelled.

But, now we’re ready to celebrate and want to get the ball – or should we say bauble – rolling for some cracking December plans.

After being stuck in the UK for the best part of two years, you’re probably ready to visit somewhere new.

And, although the sun season is over in many parts of Europe, there are some truly wonderful Christmas markets that are well worth a visit instead!

You can visit many magical markets for a super cheap price too if you know where to look for low cost return flights.

Campervan rental platform, PaulCamper, has put together a list of the most picturesque Christmas markets to visit this year for less than £25 for a return flight.

1. Wrocław Christmas Market (Jarmark Bożonarodzeniowy Wrocław)- from £10pp Return

This Christmas market located in Wroclaw, Poland is number eight on the list of the most picturesque Christmas markets in Europe, with 18,605 uses of the hashtag #jarmarkbozonarodzeniowywroclaw on Instagram.

Flights from Bournemouth to Wroclaw departing Saturday, 4 Dec and returning Wednesday, 8 Dec cost just £10 per person.

The Christmas Market in Wroclaw will be taking place in four main areas: The Market Square (Rynek), The Salt Square (Plac Solny), Świdnicka Street and Oławska Street

There are plenty of opportunities to try the local and regional cuisine.

Organisers recommend guests try Oscypek, a special smoked cheese from the Polish mountains you won’t find anywhere else than in Poland. You will also be able to find plenty of sausages, bigos, skewers, potato pancakes and more typical dishes from Poland too.

The Wroclaw Christmas Market 2021 will be open from 19th November 2021 to 31st December 2021.

2. Winter Wonderland in Spikersuppa (Jul i Vinterland) – from £11pp Return

Jul i Vinterland in Oslo, Norway is number 12 on the list of most picturesque Christmas Markets in Europe with 12,519 uses of the hashtag #julivinterland.

5. Prague Old Town Square Christmas Market – from £25pp Return
