Ritz-Carlton to add a Reserve resort on Eleuthera in the Bahamas

Marriott International will introduce a Ritz-Carlton Reserve on the southern end of Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

The property will rise on the site of the original Cotton Bay Club, which was built in 1959.

The Reserve plans to feature 90 rooms and will include an 18-hole golf course, a spa, pools and restaurants overlooking beaches and tropical flora and fauna.

It will join the five Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties around the world in Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Puerto Rico and Mexico, according to Laurent de Kousemaeker, Marriott International’s chief development officer for the Caribbean and Latin America.

Plans on Eleuthera also call for 60 privately-owned residences, ranging from one- to-five bedroom villas.

No timeline has been announced for the opening.
