Kauai's Koa Kea Resort updates guestrooms: Travel Weekly

Following a $5 million renovation, Koa Kea Resort on Poipu Beach, Kauai, has refreshed rooms and suites with a new color palette that varies depending on the room category. Double queen and standard king rooms have color schemes inspired by the different earth tones on Kauai, while the suite and deluxe king rooms take on the color of the island’s foliage.

Headboards have been recrafted with shell insets, paying homage to the resort’s name Koa Kea (which means “white coral”). New artwork is also featured, such as kapa cloth tapestries by a Native Hawaiian artisan and Polynesian-inspired lounge chairs.

“Koa Kea has long been established as a destination unto itself amid Kauai’s coveted setting,” said Ajeet Anand, vice president of sales and marketing at Meritage Collection. “Fostering an even stronger connection to the destination through the resort’s design only further enhances the experience that is already revered — especially for so many of our guests who continue to return to the property.”

From September 2022 through December 2023, Koa Kea is offering the new “With Love, Koa Kea” package that includes a stay in a newly reimagined guestroom, an ATV tour or Napali Coast cruise, a basket of Kauai goods, a dinner for two at its Red Salt restaurant and a couples spa treatment.
