Norwegian Cruise Line has scrapped a season of Asia cruises on the Norwegian Sun “due to challenging and developing regulations regarding international travel and cruising in Asia,” an NCL spokesperson said.
There has been uncertainty in Asia regarding port access as the Covid-19 pandemic lingers.
All Asia sailings on the Sun from Oct. 11 through April 25 have been canceled. The 1,936-passenger ship will reposition to Europe to sail the Canary Islands.

Celebrity, Holland America Line and Princess had previously announced redeployments of ships scheduled to sail in Asia this year.
