The arrival of the Disney Magic on March 21 will mark the return of cruising to the Cayman Islands, according to the cruise ship schedule released by the destination for its Phase 1 period.
During the four-week Phase 1, cruise passenger arrivals will be limited to 40% of previous passenger volumes, or a maximum of 75,000 passengers.
A total of 21 calls by 15 ships representing six cruise lines have been approved for Grand Cayman, beginning with the Disney Magic and ending with the Celebrity Equinox on April 17.
Passenger numbers will total 74,208 during Phase 1. Most calls will average six to eight hours in port, and there are no overnights planned. No Covid-positive passengers or crew or their close contacts will be permitted to disembark in Grand Cayman, whether they are symptomatic or not.
The full schedule includes the Disney Magic on March 21, Carnival Paradise and Carnival Sunrise March 23, the Celebrity Apex and Carnival Glory March 24, the Emerald Princess March 25, the Disney Fantasy and MSC Seashore March 29, the Celebrity Reflection March 30 and the Holland America ship the Rotterdam March 31.
The April schedule comprises the Celebrity Edge on April 1, three Carnival ships — the Vista, Paradise and Sunrise — April 6, the Celebrity Apex April 7, the Carnival Pride April 8, the MSC Seashore and Carnival Pride April 12, the Carnival Horizon and Celebrity Edge April 13 and the Celebrity Equinox on April 17.
Phase 2 will be announced, pending the successful completion of the first phase and subject to Public Health Administration approval.
