American Queen Voyages has become the only overnight cruise line to dock at Chicago’s Navy Pier.
A city that has long been limited to sightseeing cruises, Chicago is now a port for multiday cruises with the Ocean Navigator’s maiden arrival from Toronto to the Windy City on May 18.
The 202-passenger Navigator is currently sailing an 11-day itinerary from Chicago to Toronto, touching all five of the Great Lakes. The ship will call in Mackinac Island and Sault Ste. Marie in Michigan; Little Current, Ontario; Detroit; Cleveland; Niagara Falls via Port Colborne; and Toronto.
American Queen Voyages this summer and fall also will do sailings from Chicago to Montreal (and reverse) and roundtrip Lake Michigan-Lake Superior sailings from Chicago.
The Navigator is permitted to dock at Navy Pier through an exclusive partnership with City Experiences, a sister company. The Navigator’s sister ship, the Ocean Voyager, will call at Navy Pier on June 8.
The Navigator is equipped to sail in both lakes and oceans, with plans to sail in the Great Lakes, Canada, New England, America’s Southeast, and the Yucatan in Mexico.
