Vail Resorts has extended the ski season at seven of its resorts, with three now scheduled to operate through May 1.
Those running until the first of May include Colorado’s Vail Mountain, Lake Tahoe’s Kirkwood and Washington state’s Stevens Pass.
Traditionally, Vail Mountain remains open through April 24, while the seasons at Kirkwood and Stevens Pass usually run until April 10 and April 17, respectively.
Other resorts receiving season extensions are Heavenly at Lake Tahoe, which will push its season from April 17 to April 24; Hunter Mountain in New York, which will extend from April 3 to April 10; Mount Snow in Vermont, which will extend from April 17 to April 24; and Boston Mills in Ohio, which will push its season from March 13 to March 20.
The extensions are subject to weather and snow conditions, with open terrain to potentially be reduced during the late-spring periods.
