Playa Hotels & Resorts is expanding its midscale Jewel Resorts brand, with two new Jewel-flagged all-inclusives coming to the Dominican Republic.
The first, the 620-room Jewel Punta Cana, will open on Dec. 21. The all-ages property will be located along Uvero Alto Beach, approximately 20 minutes from the Punta Cana Airport.
A sister property, the Jewel Palm Beach, will debut shortly after, on Jan. 7. The 500-room all-ages resort will be situated approximately 35 minutes away from the Jewel Punta Cana.
The pair will mark the first Jewel Resorts properties in the Dominican Republic.
According to Dean Sullivan, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Playa Hotels & Resorts, the two additions are “a natural expansion of the Jewel brand, given its success in Jamaica and its appeals to a midlevel luxury clientele.”
Grand opening rates are available at the Jewel Punta Cana starting at $99 per person per night and at the Jewel Palm Beach for $105 per person per night for a limited time.
Playa Hotels & Resorts’ Jewel Resorts portfolio includes the Jewel Grande Montego Bay Resort & Spa and the Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resort & Spa in Jamaica.
