Intrepid Travel is phasing out its Peregrine Adventures tour brand as part of a larger effort to ramp up focus on the company’s higher-end travel offerings.
Peregrine Adventures, which has been part of the Intrepid Travel fold since 2012, comprises 186 itineraries spread across 62 countries as of this year. The brand’s phase-out will be complete in January.
In a statement, Intrepid Travel said that the company plans to support Peregrine Adventures customers and advisors with Peregrine Adventures credits during the transition period, with Intrepid set to offer “a number of flexible options available for future travel plans.”
The company added that it would reach out directly to travel agents to discuss details around the change and those available options.
According to Intrepid Travel CEO James Thornton, the move to close Peregrine Adventures will enable the company to focus “all our expertise and energy” on the Intrepid Premium and Comfort ranges and expanding their upscale travel options.
Intrepid Premium itineraries promise to offer Intrepid’s highest standard of accommodations, primarily in the 4-star space, while the company’s Comfort offerings are designed to provide more private transport, a more relaxed travel pace and upgraded accommodations.
Starting in January, Intrepid Premium and Comfort will collectively comprise nearly 300 itineraries across 73 countries.
