WAILEA, Maui — Ignacio Maza, Signature Travel Network’s executive vice president, will transition to a part-time role as a senior advisor to the cooperative at the end of the year.

Maza’s career in the travel industry has spanned 46 years. For the past five years, he has been working to expand the group’s luxury travel business as Signature’s luxury travel ambassador. Before that, he ran the network’s hotel program, and president and CEO Alex Sharpe credited him as a primary architect of both the hotel and destination-specialist programs. 

Sharpe also said the decision by Signature’s late chief Michelle Morgan to hire New York-based Maza had been the first step in expanding the now-national consortium outside of Arizona and California.

The announcement was made during Signature’s annual Owner’s Meeting at the Grand Wailea on Maui. 

Both Sharpe and Maza assured attendees that Maza’s presence will continue to be felt at Signature. 

Maza received two standing ovations from travel advisors attending the Owner’s Meeting.

“That I could have this moment of seeing all of you recognize me, I hope every one of you has that moment, that experience, that recognition during your career,” he said in response. “That’s my wish for you.”
