Former JW Marriott in Denver reopens as Hotel Clio: Travel Weekly

The former JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek has been renovated and reflagged, reopening as the Hotel Clio. The property is a part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection.

The 199-room hotel is located within the city’s Cherry Creek shopping and dining district.

Hotel Clio’s interiors take cues from Cherry Creek’s origins in the Gold Rush era. Inspired by the story of William Green Russell striking gold at the confluence of Cherry Creek and South Platte River, the interiors have subtle gold accents complemented by rich earth tones.

The hotel promises a “sit-down check-in” experience, presenting guests with a cocktail, hot and cold towels scented with white blossom tea, and a curated welcome playlist.

Other amenities and services include a fitness center featuring Peloton bikes and Hydrow rower machines andn access to twice-a-week “Destination Discoveries” guided neighborhood tours.

The property houses an outpost of the Toro Latin Kitchen and Bar restaurant chain, created by restaurateur Richard Sandoval. The Toro venue at Hotel Clio is helmed by chef Oscar Padilla and serves Pan-Latin fare while offering experiences like guacamole-making classes and wine and tequila tastings.

Marriott’s high-end Luxury Collection of independent hotels currently consists of 120-plus properties.
