Club Med has announced updates on resort renovations and openings, including plans to add a destination-wedding venue to the Club Med Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
The venue, expected to open in July, is being opened in partnership with Brazil-based wedding-planning collective Grupo Bisutti. Club Med has previously partnered with Grupo Bisutti on wedding venues at the Club Med Lake Paradise and Club Med Trancoso in Brazil.
The oceanfront facility will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and a 3,982-square-foot covered outdoor terrace. The venue, which will have a capacity for 250 guests, will also be available for corporate meetings and other events.
Also getting updates at the resort are 90 two-bedroom family rooms, which are to receive new furniture and décor.
The Hispaniola restaurant will be transformed into a “Caribbean beach bistro” with ocean views.

Club Med also has released opening dates for all-inclusive mountain resorts. In the French Alps, the redone Club Med Tignes will debut on Dec. 4.
A sister French Alps property, the Club Med Val d’Isère, will begin welcoming guests on Dec. 17. The Club Med Val d’Isère also was redone, and will relaunch as the first mountain resort in the brand’s five-star Exclusive Collection.
Lastly, the Club Med Kiroro Peak in Hokkaido, Japan, is on track to open Dec. 15. The Club Med Kiroro Peak will be a four-season property.
The three mountain resorts join Club Med’s roster of 20-plus mountain properties across Canada, the Alps and Asia.
