New research from Student Beans found a few staycation breaks where the price won’t break the bank. The cheapest UK holiday spot is one of Britain’s favourite seaside destinations.

The team looked at the number of budget hotels, the average cost of a room, the price of a meal, public transport and reviews to determine the best bargain break.
Blackpool topped the rankings with a hotel room for two costing just £126, cheaper than the price of renewing two passports.
The ultimate British seaside resort, Blackpool is famous for its Illuminations, ballroom dancing and quirky nightlife.
As the weather starts to cheer up, it could be the perfect time to spend a day relaxing on Blackpool beach.

A tourist ‘Aly T’ wrote on Tripadvisor: “Breezy but magnificent. Loved taking in the sea air as we strolled along from the hotel to the tower.”
‘Stuart H’ said: “This beach must be world famous and deserves to be! At low tide there are miles of clean, golden sand with three piers to wander under.”
But if the weather doesn’t comply, tourists don’t need to worry as Blackpool has plenty of rainy day activities.
The home of ballroom dancing, tourists could take to the floor at Blackpool Tower or enjoy afternoon tea at the opulent cafe.
Liverpool took second place on the list and tourists could get in a quick trip before the city hosts Eurovision in May.
The city’s top attractions include Royal Albert Dock, the Maritime Museum, Liverpool Cathedral and Tate Liverpool.
Tourists might want to check out the Cavern Club famed for its links to one of Britain’s most famous exports, the Beatles.
However, not everyone was impressed by the famous spot and it was recently named one of the UK’s biggest tourist traps.
York rounded off the top three and is the perfect destination for any tourists looking for a historical break.
Visitors can walk the city’s walls and discover its idyllic old streets and chocolate shops. York Minster was recently crowned England’s most beautiful building.
Sunderland took fourth place on the list and is very close to some of the UK’s most breathtaking beaches.
Birmingham grabbed fifth place on the list and tourists could explore the city’s museum or pay a visit to Cadbury World.
