A haven for sun seekers looking to escape the winter weather, Gran Canaria offers November temperatures in the mid-20s.
The Spanish islands offer a delightful mix of beaches, bars and sunshine as well as little chance of rain. Weather forecasts over the coming week show the temperatures reaching highs of a very pleasant 24C.
This will be in stark contrast to Great Britain, which will be fighting to stay above freezing as the mercury plummets and the risk of snow deepens.
Next month’s forecast show that even in December the odds of sunny spells remain high with a possible 25C on Christmas Day.
This generally mild and subtropical climate has made Gran Canaria a popular all-year-travel destination.

Gran Canaria is one of the Canary Islands, an archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean.
It is a Spanish island and the second most populous in the Canary Islands, after Tenerife.
The island’s natural attractions include the impressive Maspalomas Dunes, and Roque Nublo rock formation which serves as the island’s symbol.
UNESCO designated Gran Canaria as a Biosphere Reserve in 2005, recognising its ecological diversity and efforts towards sustainable development.

A blend of Spanish, African, and indigenous Guanche cultures has influenced the local culture.
Traditional festivals, music, and dance are all held various times through the year.
A top attraction is a visit to Caldera de Bandama the biggest volcanic crater on the Island.
From the summit, climbers will have great views also over the capital city, mountains and a huge swathes of the eastern coast.
Visitors in winter months are quick to pass on the benefits to fellow tourists with Tripadvisor full of reviews recommending a holiday to Gran Canaria in the winter time.
One visitor said: “Las Palmas is a wonderful place to stay in winter- however you can get unlucky with the weather though its never cold- i love it as there are cultural events and concerts you don’t get in the South of the island-completely different, and in my opinion much better feel in the north of Gran Canaria than the South.”
Another wrote: “Las Palmas is a lovely place to be in winter. We go there every year, although only for a few days. It must be a lovely place to go for longer.
“There are so many things to do and see there, and the Las Canteras promenade is perfect for not doing much at all.”
