‘Lovely clean beach’ named cheapest for Britons

Package holiday prices in popular destinations such as Spain and Greece have soared according to new research.

Luckily, the travel expert team at Omio has searched for the most affordable beaches for this summer.

This year’s cheapest beach has ice cream for just 10p and was described as “lovely” and “clean” by holidaymakers.

While beach prices aren’t the only cost to consider, Britons could save by paying more for flights to reach a cheaper destination.

Flights to the south of France might be inexpensive but once the cost of accommodation and essentials is added to the overall price, it may be cheaper to pay slightly more for a flight to Turkey.

According to Omio’s research, Cleopatra Beach in Turkey’s Antalya region is the most affordable beach destination for this summer.

An ice-cream was just 10p in the bargain spot while a chilled beachside beer came in at just £1.41.

A tourist ‘BagaLady’ wrote on Tripadvisor: “Lovely clean beach with plenty of sunbeds. Several places to eat, and it can be brought to your sunbed if required.”

‘Maureen’ said: “What a beautiful beach! Aqua blue clear water and a wide beach where you never feel like a sardine.”

Based on the research, Turkey is one of this year’s best value destinations with three seaside spots in the top 10.

Montenegro and Bulgaria were also bargain options with just one Spanish beach making the ranking.
