An enormous new wellness centre and water park with 35 slides is coming to the UK soon.

The £250million park features a huge glass-domed ceiling and dozens of pools – and it’s being built next to the Trafford Centre in Manchester.

The Therme spa, water park and wellness centre has been described as an “urban oasis” and it will cover a massive 28-acres of land.

Therme will be the first city-based resort of its kind in the UK and guests can dive into the 25 pools, 35 water slides and 30 saunas and steam rooms and enjoy a weekly timetable of exercise classes, reports MEN.

Both indoor and outdoor pools will be available and more than 1,500 palm trees create a tropical atmosphere so you’ll feel closer to the Bahamas than Manchester.

Plans for the build include rooftop beehives as the creators hope to encourage the “wellbeing of people and the planet.” Honey from the bees will be used in dishes at the on-site restaurants and in some spa treatments.

The centre wants to create a unique experience for Brits that’s “never before seen in the UK” thanks to the mix of art, nature, wellbeing treatments, technology, and water-based activities.

Therme group bosses, who also have a centre in Bucharest, say they want to bring an “everyday holiday to people across the North West of England”.

Snaps of the attraction plans show an incredible range of slides and activities which will be on offer when the development opens – hopefully in 2023.

Therme will be placed next to Barton Square at the Trafford Centre – an area partly covered by the Event City exhibition centre which closed this year. And, building work has begun on site.

Within the lagoons and botanical gardens there will be an adults-only area with glam swim-up bars, therapeutic mineral pools and luxury steam rooms and saunas.

Sounds like heaven!

Visitors can also get involved in aqua fitness classes, yoga, pilates and other activities.

Bosses say all Therme Group resorts use state-of-the-art plant-based filtration to purify the environment, so guests are always breathing the freshest air and swimming in the cleanest ozone-treated water.

Richard Land, Chief Development Officer of Therme Group UK, said: "Therme Group is based on a belief that wellbeing should be accessible for all.

"The events of 2020 have shone a light on the necessity of this mission, especially for those in cities.

"Therme Manchester will redefine city wellbeing, enhancing mental and physical health through an experience based in water and nature.

“It will offer a unique holiday at home, that acts as a catalyst for healthy lifestyles.”

Plans were approved in September for another water-based activity space at the Trafford Centre – a £60m surfing lagoon which also hopes to open in 2023.

Looks like water babies will be migrating North in the coming years!

Therme bosses expect the Manchester site to attract more than 1.5m visitors to the area once its open..

The Therme Group has already confirmed plans to roll out similar wellbeing resorts across the UK, including in Wales, London and Scotland, as well as in North America and the Asia-Pacific.

The UK-wide expansion is expected to create around 3,000 jobs.

Pricing has not yet been announced, but leaders claim they want it to be “affordable” for all.
