Inside world’s first gold-plated hotel with bling walls, toilets and steaks

The world’s first gold hotel is dripping with luxury.

Situated in Hanoi, Vietnam, the Dolce Hanoi Golden Lake hotel took 11 years to make.

In this time, designers packed a lot of detail into the posh property.

The hotel’s door handles and walls are plated with gold – and it also boasts precious bath tubs and toilets.

Chefs serve up mouthwatering dishes with gold leaf-covered Tomahawk steak, 24K duck breast and stunning desserts.

And when tourists aren’t taking in the breathtaking hotel, they can enjoy picturesque views of Giang Vo Lake that’s situated right outside.

Surprisingly, it’s not actually that expensive to stay in the hotel overnight in a standard room.

At the time of publication, you can book a King Room for just £126.

Executive suites are more expensive though and tend to cost £800 nightly.

What’s more, hiring out one of the apartments for a day will set you back a hefty £5,200 per square metre.

Even though the more luxurious trips are pricey, guests think it’s well worth the money.

One Booking.com visitor gushed: “The golden toilet, bath, coffee cup, etc… I was impressed! Everyone please experience it once. It’s the best!”

And a TripAdvisor guest said: “Extraordinary interior design as the hotel is fully plated with 24K GOLD!

“Modern, contemporary and the hotel has plenty of Instagrammable spots in every corner for us to take pictures.

"Especially the golden infinity swimming pool on the rooftop. Magnificent!

“I can’t describe in words but my kids loved it a lot…

"We booked the suite with lake view and it was just stunning!", the reviewer added.

“And we were overwhelmed by the service here.

"We had tasty meals at Golden Lake Palace restaurant which is all Chinese cuisine food but it is the best I've ever tried in Hanoi, not to mention the glorious golden afternoon tea at the other hotel's restaurant.

"Details such as dishes and cutleries are also gold-plated.

“The staff were truly hospitable we couldn’t ask for more.”

Owner Nguyen Huu Duong, who runs the business alongside the American Wyndham Hotels brand, is bound to be delighted with this feedback.

The Blend reports that he wants to make his 25-storey hotel “the most luxurious in the world”.

His bling building was completed before the Formula 1 Grand Prix that was meant to take place in Hanoi.

Sadly, the event was cancelled during the coronavirus pandemic.
