Planning a city staycation? The prettiest city in England might be the perfect destination for a 2024 holiday.
According to a new study from the team at Swift Direct Blinds, Edinburgh is the UK’s most aesthetically pleasing city. However, there’s a city in England that was a close second.
Liverpool was named England’s most attractive city based on the number of landmarks, listed buildings and social media attention.
Famed for the Beatles, docks and more recently Eurovision, Liverpool is one of England’s most exciting city break destinations.
The city’s incredible architecture has meant it’s often been used as a filming location and it’s England’s only UNESCO city of music.

So what is there to see in Liverpool?
Topping the list of attractions on Tripadvisor is the Royal Albert Docks, a renovated area of Liverpool and home to the Tate and Beatles Museum.
‘Chris B’ wrote on Tripadvisor: “A must see. Stunning architecture steeped in history. It’s all rather grand. Loads of statues and points of interest and places to visit.”
‘Andrewjenney’ wrote: “Royal Albert Docks are an amazing part of Liverpool. Plenty of restaurants, bars and attractions to keep you occupied.”

However, the Italian capital wasn’t rated highly by the expats who live there in a recent survey of foreign residents.
