easyJet issues warning for passengers travelling from major airport

easyJet has issued a warning for passengers travelling to and from London Luton Airport following last month’s car park fire.

The budget airline said: “Please allow extra time for your journey if you’re travelling by road.

“Following the car park fire in October, the drop off and pick up zone has moved to the Mid Stay car park.

“This is a 10 minute walk from the Terminal, or a free shuttle bus is available. Blue Badge holders can be dropped off at Terminal Car Park 1.”

It added that airport parking is limited following the fire so passengers will need to make sure they book ahead.

It added: “The Luton DART, which connects to mainline train services from Luton Airport Parkway, is now running as normal.

“Bus and coaches continue to operate outside the front of the terminal building, with services unaffected.”

The car park at Luton Airport’s terminal two suffered a structural collapse after the huge fire ripped through it.

The blaze damaged as many as 1,200 cars and the airport said it was unlikely that any vehicles would be “salvageable”.

More than 30,000 passengers suffered disruption to their journeys after the fire caused huge delays.

On Thursday this week, Storm Ciaran led to flight cancellations including more than 30 British Airways journeys.
