The travel team at Parkdean Resorts have identified several British staycation beaches that look just like leading destinations overseas. A “stunning” beach in the Isle of Wight could be mistaken for Australia.
A spokesperson for the team: “The Isle of Wight’s Small Hope Beach is a beacon of colour with its stunning beachside huts that line the sandy shores and luckily for UK travellers, Parkdean has found it to be a dupe for Melbourne’s Brighton Beach.
“Both beaches are nestled in lush green terrain, rolling golden sands and beach huts to evoke seaside nostalgia.
“Small Hope Beach might be a world away in distance, but also cost – a trip to this Aussie dupe could save you over £7,700.”
Small Hope Beach is one of the Isle of Wight’s most popular beaches and sits to the left of the main Shanklin seafront.
The pretty sandy Isle of Wight beach is lined with colourful beach huts which can be hired for the day.
The beach is very popular with families as the water is generally safe for swimming and water sports.
Children will love the arcades at Shanklin Esplanade and there’s also an adventure golf course nearby.
A staycation at Small Hope Beach could be combined with a longer trip to explore everything the Isle of Wight has to offer.

The Isle of Wight was a favourite destination of Queen Victoria who holidayed there many times.
The former Queen stayed at Osborne House when she was on the island and once said: “It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot.”
Tourists can explore Osborne House on a visit to the Isle of Wight and even see Queen Victoria’s bathing machine on her private beach.
The house is also home to the Queen and Prince Albert’s personal collection of furniture and art.
Osborne House was also a sanctuary for the Royal children and tourists can explore their incredible playhouse, Swiss Cottage.
Families might want to visit Blackgang Chine, the UK’s oldest amusement park with a range of attractions for all ages.
At Robin Hill Country Park, children can explore over 88 acres of rides, gardens and outdoor activities.
Cowes is the most stylish part of the island and one of the best places to enjoy seafood in summer.
The Isle of Wight is served by three ferry operators which run from Portsmouth, Southampton and Southsea.
Tourists can drive to the island and take their car on the ferry or opt for the passenger ferry route.
There are also coach options available with all in one tickets on offer for passengers travelling from further afield.
If Small Hope Beach doesn’t appeal, an incredible beach in Cornwall that looks just like the Caribbean might be the perfect option.
