Discount carrier Norse Atlantic Airways will launch seasonal service between New York JFK and Rome on June 20.
The carrier will fly the route daily on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with premium economy and economy seating.
Flights will depart New York at 1 a.m., and departures from Rome will be at 7:30 p.m.
The route will mark Norse Atlantic’s entry into Rome and its eighth route between the U.S. and Europe. The carrier, which began operations last June, currently flies to London Gatwick, Oslo and Berlin Brandenburg. Paris de Gaulle flights from New York will begin in March.
In the U.S., Norse Atlantic serves Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles in addition to New York.
Norse Atlantic will compete on the New York-Rome route with Delta (up to thrice daily) American (up to twice daily), and Italian flag carrier ITA Airways (up to twice daily), Cirium schedule data shows.
Tickets went on sale Jan. 24 with one-way fares starting at $239.
