Bahamas' Western Air offers its first flights to the U.S.: Travel Weekly

Bahamian carrier Western Air has launched service to the U.S.

Western, which serves eight Bahamian destinations, began flying daily between Nassau and Fort Lauderdale on May 19. The carrier is servicing the route with an Embraer E145 regional jet.

Western Air has flown within the Bahamas since 2001. The carrier provides ticket validity of six months with no change fees. One checked bag up to 40 pounds is included in ticket prices.

JetBlue, Southwest, Bahamasair and Silver Airways also fly between Nassau and Fort Lauderdale, Cirium flight schedule data shows.
