The carrier said Wednesday that it will put tickets on sale in early June for Belize City, hinting that service will be offered from more than one of its West Coast hubs of Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. However, Alaska has not provided specific route information.

Alaska adding new jets
Also on Wednesday, Alaska announced that it will add 17 Embraer E175 regional jets to its fleet in 2022 and 2023, a move it said will be necessary to meet demand. Alaska projected domestic flight demand will reach pre-Covid levels by summer 2022.
Nine of the new 76-seat regional aircraft will be operated for Alaska by its regional subsidiary Horizon, while eight of the planes will be flown by SkyWest under the carriers’ contractual relationship.
SkyWest will own those eight planes, giving the carrier a total of 40 aircraft that it will be operating under its Alaska Airlines agreement.
