Miraval Resorts & Spas is expanding the reach of its Life in Balance Spa, announcing plans to open one at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., next spring.
The move is the first in a collaboration between Miraval and Park Hyatt; both brands are owned by Hyatt Hotels Corp.

The opening of a Life in Balance Spa is part of a $60 million dollar renovation at the Park Hyatt Aviara. Life in Balance will replace the property’s existing 15,000-square-foot spa and feature 20 indoor and outdoor treatment rooms as well as specialized facilities like a spa pool designed for a sensory deprivation treatment and a space with hanging yoga silks, which are utilized as part of a Thai-style massage treatment.
Other spa amenities will include a fitness center that will host exercise, yoga and meditation classes, as well as a lounge and a retail space.
Existing Life in Balance Spas are currently in operation at Miraval’s resorts in Tucson, Arizona; Austin, Texas; and Lenox, Mass.
