Cayman Islands narrows Covid testing window for arrivals

The government of the Cayman Islands has reduced the Covid testing window for arriving travelers from 72 hours prior to arrival to no earlier than one day before arrival.

The new rule takes effect Dec. 17 and applies to all unvaccinated and vaccinated travelers ages 5 and older.

The current protocols for entry remain in effect: apply for travel approval, upload proof of medical insurance, upload proof of vaccination for vaccinated travelers.

In addition, vaccinated travelers must take three lateral flow tests during their stay (each test is $30, the customer pays and the results are obtained in minutes).

Unvaccinated travelers also must quarantine for 10 or 14 days depending upon where they are coming from. A negative PCR test is required at the end of the quarantine period.
