Anguilla culinary event includes Beard Award winner, Michelin-starred chef

The Anguilla Culinary Experience, has announced its chefs lineup for this year’s event, slated for May 3 to 6 at various locations on the island.

The event, in its second year, will welcome guest chefs Jennifer Carroll of Spice Finch of Philadelphia and “Top Chef USA” fame; Daniele Lippi of  two-Michelin-starred Acquolina in Rome, four-times James Beard Award-winner David Waltuck of New York; and Anthony Rose of Toronto’s Fat Pasha and Fet Zun Camp.

The festival opens with an opening-night party at D Richard’s at the Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club. The opening event, which is priced at $140, will offer samplings from Aurora’s six restaurants, using ingredients from its onsite hydroponic gardens and organic farm.

Local and guest chefs will collaborate to present multicourse, epicurean meals. Among the events include a collaboration between chefs Carroll and Emanuele Sabatini for a cooking and dinner extravaganza on the beach at the Zemi Beach House. Chefs Lippi and Dario Schiavo will alternate courses in a Beyond Appearances dinner at the Savi Beach Club, where Schiavo serves as chef. Waltuck, of New York’s Chanterelle, and Veya’s chef Carrie Bogar will offer an exclusive tasting menu on the terrace at Villa Alegria.

Among the final day’s events are a beach BBQ and competition at the Anguilla Great House Beach Resort in Rendezvous Bay. Tickets for the BBQ event range from $25 for entrance only ($25) to packages that include one rum punch or soft drink, and either $30 or $60 in prepaid food and drink tickets. Dinner events start at $175 for the Farm-to-Table Garden Dinner.
