Hong Kong-based The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts marked the opening of The Pavilions Rome, The First Roma Musica on June 30.
The 24-room, five-star boutique property is housed in a midcentury building originally designed by architect Mario Docci and renovated by Studio Marincola.
The First Roma Musica is located near the Spanish Steps and overlooks the Tiber River.
Decor elements include floor-to-ceiling windows and a dramatic facade in the style of the Museo dell’Ara Pacis on the opposite riverbank.
Interior features include Loro Piana fabrics and Calacatta marble, boiserie on the walls, brass accents and modern artworks.
The sixth- and seventh-floor Alto rooftop bar overlooks the city and serves international cuisine, drinks and wines, accompanied by live music events and DJ sets. The property also offers regional cuisine in the fifth-floor, indoor/outdoor Oliva restaurant.
A subterranean spa with an indoor pool and wellness area is in the works for a September opening.
Along with its two sister hotels in Rome, The First Roma Arte and The First Roma Dolce, the three hotels are collectively being labeled The First Roma group.
Rates start at about $522 per room per night, including taxes and service.
