A German hospitality group has created a new river cruise company after acquiring a former Crystal Cruises river ship to launch its fleet.
Seaside Collection launched Riverside Luxury Cruises earlier this fall and has repurposed the former Crystal Mozart into the Riverside Mozart.

The double-wide ship is set to debut on the Danube in April. It was originally built in 1987 before undergoing a major renovation in 2016 to become Crystal Cruises’ first river cruise vessel.
The Riverside Mozart will sail the upper and lower parts of the famed central European river from as far south as the Iron Gates between Serbia and Romania and as far north as Passau, Germany. Its first itinerary launches on April 4 on a roundtrip voyage from Vienna, visiting Budapest and Bratislava, Slovakia. The Riverside Mozart will also host a series of Christmas market cruises next year between Germany and Vienna beginning Nov. 26.
Itineraries range from 3 nights to 14 nights onboard the 81-suite ship, which has rooms as big as 215 square feet for one to two guests, and up to 883 square feet for an Owner’s Suite that can fit up to four guests. Each suite will include butler service, and there are four restaurants, an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and massage room also featured on the ship.
Riverside Luxury Cruises is led by Jennifer Halboth, CEO, Riverside Collection, Americas, who previously worked in several marketing roles at the Globus family of brands, including as director of national accounts.
