Carnival reroutes 3 ships from Grand Turk after Hurricane Fiona: Travel Weekly

Carnival Cruise Line has adjusted three itineraries on ships with scheduled stops in Grand Turk due to damage at the pier from Fiona, which hit Turks and Caicos Sept. 19 as a Category 3 hurricane.

The Carnival Sunrise, which sailed from Miami, will stop in Bimini, Bahamas, on Wednesday, Sept. 28. The Mardi Gras, which departed out of Port Canaveral, Fla., will stop at Nassau on Friday, Sept. 30.

Carnival Freedom’s Sept. 26 sailing from Port Canaveral will also sub in Nassau for Grand Turk on Sept. 30.

Fiona caused major damage in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic before it hit Turks and Caicos. Several cruise lines were rerouted in the Caribbean as a result of the storm.

According to a cruise-call calendar on the Grand Turk Cruise Center’s website, the next scheduled call is the Carnival Freedom, on Oct. 4.
