Carnival Jubilee cruises canceled with delivery delayed

The delivery of the Carnival Jubilee will be held up by two months due to shipyard delays, and some sailings have been canceled, according to Carnival Cruise Line.

“Supply chain logistics and related matters” have caused the ship’s October delivery date to be pushed back to December. Carnival expects the ship will sail directly to Galveston, Texas, to operate its first cruise on Dec. 23.

The change of schedule means six voyages have been canceled, including one on Oct. 30 from Southampton, England, to Galveston and five Caribbean sailings out of Texas. Once in operation, the ship will sail seven-day Western Caribbean itineraries calling in Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico, along with Roatan, Honduras.

Jubilee is the third ship in the line’s Excel class and will include many of the same amenities as its sister ships, the Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. The ship is under construction at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.
