American Queen Voyages is adding an educational program and lecture series about the Great Lakes for its lakes and oceans fleet in 2023.

Through a partnership with the National Museum of the Great Lakes in Ohio, American Queen Voyages will be introducing a Lakelorian program that includes a permanent lecturer on each Great Lakes sailing aboard the Ocean Voyager and Ocean Navigator. 

The Lakelorian lecturer is similar to the Riverlorian that is found onboard each of the company’s paddlewheelers sailing U.S. rivers. 

Onboard, the lake lecturer will share insights with guests about the histories of the Great Lakes and the surrounding region, provide information about the cities and town visited in each port, and host daily Lake Chats inside the ship lounges. Lectures will also profile current exhibits at the National Museum of Great Lakes.
