AmaWaterways is adding wine experts to guide a new expanded version of its themed wine cruises in Europe.

European Wine Hosts will join the cruise line’s new European Wine Immersion sailings, which are part of the company’s long-running Celebration of Wine cruises that launched in 2010.

The new hosts will share in-depth knowledge about wines in the visited regions along the cruise route and accompany guests on land excursions to wineries, seasonal wine festivals and other wine-centric events on select itineraries starting in August and running through early November.

There are over 60 Celebration of Wine cruises that AmaWaterways will operate this year, and four of those departures will be the new European Wine Immersion sailings hosted by the wine experts. The hosts come from all over the world, and most are either certified through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust or have spent years immersed in all things vino.

The special seven-night sailings will depart on Aug. 4, Oct. 27 and 29 and Nov. 8. Colors of Provence will sail on the Rhone river, Taste of Bordeaux will sail Garonne and Dordogne, Paris & Normandy will sail on the Seine and Europe’s Rivers & Castles will sail on Rhine, Main and Moselle.
