How We Make Money

Best Travel Tale is free to read. To keep it that way, some of our guides include partner links to travel services such as eSIM providers, booking sites and tour operators.

If you click a partner link and buy something, the company may pay us a small commission. You never pay more – the price is exactly the same as going to the site directly, and sometimes our readers get a discount.

Partner links are clearly marked: guides that contain them say so at the top, and recommendation boxes are labelled. Following Google's guidelines, every partner link is tagged as sponsored.

Local partners in Egypt

Best Travel Tale was founded on Egypt's Red Sea coast. Some of the local services we recommend there – such as airport transfer and day-trip booking sites in Hurghada and Marsa Alam – are run by companies connected to our founder. We always mark them as partners, and we only recommend them where they are genuinely useful for the trip we're writing about.

Our editorial rules

  • Recommendations come first. We decide what to recommend before we look at whether a company has a partner program. Many of the places and services we recommend earn us nothing.
  • We say who something is for. No product is best for everyone, so we explain the trade-offs – including when a cheaper or free option is the better choice.
  • No paid placements in guides. Companies cannot pay to be included in or to rank higher in our editorial guides.
  • We keep guides up to date. Prices and plans change; we review our practical guides regularly and correct mistakes as soon as we find them.
