Tauck is adding private tours of Graceland Mansion, the home of legendary rock ‘n’ roll artist Elvis Presley, to one of its itineraries ahead of a new biopic about the performer.
The tour company said guests booked on the 11-day Life on the Mississippi itinerary will enjoy a private, after-hours tour of the Memphis, Tenn., estate and grounds for one hour with a local guide. The cruise-and-tour itinerary combines highlight of New Orleans’ food and music scene along with visits to other historic sites in Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.
The itinerary begins with a two-night stay at the Four Seasons New Orleans before boarding the 166-guest, 83-cabin paddlewheeler American Duchess, an American Queen Voyages ship, for a seven-night cruise. Guests will disembark in Memphis where they will explore the city’s music history and visit the National Civil Rights Museum and Graceland before overnighting at the Guest House at Graceland.
The new private tour comes as the film “Elvis,” starring Tom Hanks and directed by Baz Luhrmann, is set to hit U.S. theaters on June 24. Graceland will also mark its 40th anniversary of hosting public tours this month.
