Sandals Resorts International has introduced a new program to put cancellation-weary travelers at ease when they book trips through next year.
Sandals Vacation Assurance guarantees “a free replacement vacation including airfare for guests impacted by Covid-19-related travel interruptions,” according to a statement from the company behind Sandals and Beaches Resorts.

The benefits include a replacement vacation if a trip is interrupted by Covid-19 restrictions or lockdown, replacement airfare credit for U.S. travelers up to $500 per person on the replacement vacation, quarantine stays of up to 14 nights at no charge if required, Covid-19 testing at the property to meet any government requirements and a travel protection plan that includes a cancel anytime policy with full refund 31 days or more from the date of travel or full travel credit if less than 31 days out.
For example, if a guest returns a positive result on a Covid-19 PCR test result while at a Sandals or Beaches resort and is required to quarantine, they will receive a credit voucher for the room booking that can be used within 12 months of the issue date.
The program is free of charge and automatically applies to current and new reservations booked this year for travel through Dec. 31, 2022.
The offering is an attempt to give guests more security and confidence when booking at a time when many destinations in the U.S. and internationally are reinstituting Covid-19 restrictions and social distancing measures because of spike in cases due to the spread of the delta variant.
“We want to put the fun and joy of planning and anticipating a great vacation back into travel,” Adam Stewart, Sandals Resorts International executive chairman said in a statement. “While we recognize the real concerns that may weigh on our guests’ minds, we’re taking extraordinary measures to remove worry from the equation so travelers can delight in the entire travel journey — from booking to departure.”
