Marriott and MGM unveil loyalty program partnership

Marriott International and MGM Resorts International have unveiled a new, long-term partnership under which 17 MGM properties will join the pair’s soon-to-launch MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy platform.

MGM properties within the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy network will become bookable via Marriott’s digital platforms, including Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy app, while continuing to be available through MGM Resorts booking channels.

The partnership will also create synergies between the companies’ loyalty programs, with MGM Rewards members becoming eligible to link accounts with Marriott Bonvoy and receive select benefits and Marriott Bonvoy members able to earn and redeem points for stays at all MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy properties.

As part of the agreement, four MGM properties joining the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy stable will also be affiliated with a Marriott soft brand. These include the Bellagio Resort & Casino, which joins The Luxury Collection; the Aria Resort & Casino, which joins the Autograph Collection; the Park MGM, which joins the Tribute Portfolio; and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, which will remain part of the Autograph Collection.

The other 13 MGM resorts joining the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy network include eight Las Vegas properties, comprising the Vdara Hotel & Spa, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, NoMad Las Vegas, The Signature at MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, New York-New York Hotel & Casino, Luxor Hotel and Casino and Excalibur Hotel & Casino, as well as the Borgata in Atlantic City, Beau Rivage in Mississippi, MGM Grand Detroit in Michigan, MGM National Harbor in Maryland and MGM Springfield in Massachusetts.

The MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy platform will go live in October, with all 17 MGM properties expected to be onboarded by the end of the year.

Concurrently, Marriott has entered into a loyalty marketing agreement with BetMGM, MGM Resorts’ online gaming and sports betting joint venture. Under that agreement, Marriott Bonvoy members will be able to earn points on select BetMGM transaction and participate in BetMGM games, experiences and offers, while BetMGM Rewards members will be able to exchange BetMGM Rewards points for Marriott Bonvoy points.
