IHG Hotels & Resorts announced changes to its loyalty program, including a new tier and bonus point earning structure, which will go live in March.
The changes are part of a broader overhaul of its loyalty program, the details of which will be unveiled later in 2022, according to the hotel company.
IHG will introduce a new tier, Gold Elite, with qualification at 20 nights and a 40% bonus point structure. Gold will be situated between the Silver and Platinum tiers.
The company will rename its highest tier — currently Spire Elite — to Diamond Elite. That tier will retain its 100% bonus point structure. The company also said it would improve bonus point earning levels across all other tiers, aside from the basic ‘Club.’
“These changes are just the start as we prepare to fully relaunch a truly transformed program later this year,” IHG CEO Keith Barr said in a statement.
Any stays booked by IHG Rewards members beginning Jan. 1, 2022, will count toward the new status levels when the program launches in March.
