Flight Centre Travel Group has named Michelle Degenhardt its global sustainability officer.
In the role, a new one for Flight Centre, Degenhardt will “help ensure the company’s business practices are economically, environmentally and socially sustainable,” the company said.
Degenhardt has worked for Flight Centre for 17 years. Previously, she was its culture and employee engagement leader. She has been involved in a number of sustainability-related projects at Flight Centre, including developing its Responsible Travel charter.
In her new role, Degenhardt will be based at Flight Centre’s global head office in Brisbane, Australia. She reports to Brett Anderson, global head of risk and sustainability.
