Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will reopen Jan. 2 for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020.
With the reopening will come the return of popular attractions, including the country’s largest outdoor wave pool and family raft attraction Miss Adventure Falls, as well as new menu items.
Surf lessons will return to the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool. Guests can take Learn to Surf group lessons or book private surfing events for up to 25. Private events will return Jan. 7 and bookings are open now.

At the Snack Shack, guests will find new Dole Whip menu offerings. The famed snack will be offered in mango, lime, raspberry or pineapple flavors. There will be two cones inspired by characters from the film “Moana.” Adults can add tequila, coconut rum or dark rum to their Dole Whip.
A new signature cocktail, the Habanero Lime Galley Shack Swirl, will also be on the menu.
There will also be a number of menu items marking Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration, including Walt’s Chili Nachos, a birthday cake-flavored ice cream cone (the EARidescent Ice Dream Cone), and a special popcorn bucket and refillable mug.
Typhoon Lagoon is one of two water parks at Disney World in Orlando. Blizzard Beach reopened last March.
