Conrad resort opens in Tulum

Hilton’s luxury Conrad brand has made its debut in the Mexican Caribbean with the opening of the beachfront Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya.

The 349-room resort was designed with nature in mind, with guestrooms using elements like stone, wood, and metal. Floor-to-ceiling windows give way to sweeping ocean views.

Each room has its own private balcony and relaxation tub (or plunge pool for those on the ground floor). Suites have dining areas for up to eight, as well as bathrooms with soaking tubs and rainfall showers.

The Conrad Tulum has seven food and beverage locations. Autor is the upscale dining venue. Maratea serves Mediterranean cuisine. Sushi is served at Ukai, while teppanyaki is on the menu at Kengal.

Cafetal is an upscale café inspired by a traditional Tianguis-style market, serving coffee and snacks. Chaak Bar is named after the Mayan rain god and inspired by the cenotes where Mayans would connect with him.

Within the mangroves surrounding the resort is the Conrad Spa Tulum, which features a menu of services, including the Mayan Menteada, an ancient massage technique where shawls are tied around the waist to relax and realign the body.

The resort has 55,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including Tulum’s first separate convention center.
