Most Brits have heard of the mysterious Bermuda Triangle – the centre of an urban legend where ships, planes and men disappear.
The area, in the North Atlantic Ocean, is also iconically named the Devil’s Triangle due to its dark and deadly history.
The Bermuda Triangle is loosely thought to sit between Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Florida and looms over several islands.

While there is no set map of the Bermuda Triangle, its horrible past looms large in people’s minds.
Suggestions of missing ships and crew being related to a specific area of the ocean began to arise in the 1950s.
The circumstances around the disappearance of ships and aeroplanes in the area lead to a gathering dread about travelling through the triangle.
In one tale, a squadron of U.S Navy bombers became disoriented while flying over the area in 1945 and their planes were never found.
The leader of the Flight 19 mission was lost and all of the planes apparently flew aimlessly until they ran out of fuel, descended to the water and then were lost to the waves.
A rescue plane and its crew disappeared the same day – no bodies or parts of the planes were ever located.
Ships are said to have vanished in the triangle despite good weather and without ever calling for help on naval radios.
In 1918 the USS Cyclops – a massive Navy cargo ship with 300 crew – sank somewhere between Barbados and the Chesapeake Bay.
No SOS call was ever sent out by the boat and no wreckage was ever located.
In 1941 two more ships vanished in the same area – and were never found again.
Those enamoured with the mystery can now visit the official Northern Point of the Bermuda Triangle and gaze out over the water where the unknown lurks.
Thankfully, you can now look out to the iconic location while remaining firmly on land.
To take a look at the Bermuda Triangle Point Plaque you’ll need to head to Albuoy’s Point in Hamilton on the island of Bermuda.
A video clip showing the plaque was recently uploaded to Instagram by the travel website @Bermuda.
In the comments people were keen to check it out.
One fan wrote: “It’s on my to-do list!”
“Another great reason to go back to the islands of Bermuda,” added another.
Others have mysterious tales of their own about the area.
An Instagram user said: “We tried to find our way there earlier but kept getting lost and ending up on the reef off South Shore.”
