You can currently snap up return flights to New York from £279

If you've always dreamed of ticking the Big Apple off the bucket list, then you may want to check out Norse Atlantic's latest deals.

That's because the budget airline has launched a huge sale for travel dates through to March 2024 – and that includes cheap return flights to New York from £279.

That could mean holiday budget left to spare whether you want to visit the Statue of Liberty, see a Broadway show, take in the lights at Times Square or explore the shops and must-try brunch hotspots of Manhattan.

The sale is already live but you'll need to book by midnight on Tuesday 12th September when it ends – just take note that the cheapest rates are subject to availability. You can already book online.

Norse Atlantic offers two cabin types; Economy and Premium. Economy is divided into three ticket types – Light, Classic and Flextra – which all include different perks and baggage allowance. In the sale, we found that the cheapest deals are based on Light tickets, which include an underseat bag but no meal, and no other luggage – although you can add this on from $35 each way. It's not just New York which is included in the deals on return flights from London Gatwick. Other hotspots include:

  • New York JFK from £279 return
  • Miami from £279 return
  • Orlando from £279 return
  • Boston from £239 return
  • Washington D.C. from £239 return
  • San Francisco from £309 return
  • Los Angeles from £359 return

These are all based on Economy Light tickets, but depending on your budget you could consider Classic or Flextra tickets which include the likes of in-flight meals and more luggage allowance.

Don't be disheartened if you can't quite find the right deal for you. The good news is that there are plenty more cheap flights to the USA to be found.

For a start, Virgin Atlantic offers packages and flights to New York City with prices from £333pp, and often includes the Big Apple in its flash sales and events like Black Friday. Meanwhile, British Airways has NYC holidays from £499pp including both your hotel and flights, or flight-only deals with returns from £332pp.

Skyscanner can also be a good source for finding cheap return flights from £253 although it's worth noting that these aren't always direct routes – but if you don't mind a stopover, it could help save you some budget.
