The most ‘loved’ and the most ‘hated’ major airlines in the world have been revealed. And it’s Canada’s Bearskin Airlines that is the most adored – and India’s Go First that is the most disliked.

That’s according to a study of tweets that mention airlines. The research used an AI ‘sentiment tool’ to analyse the text in thousands of posts and assign a score to them according to whether they mentioned the carrier positively or negatively. Any airline with less than 100 mentions was excluded.

In total, 53.4 per cent of tweets about Bearskin Airlines were positive, with Canada’s Pacific Coastal Airlines claiming second place in the global ‘most loved’ list with a score of 48.5 per cent and Portugal’s TAP Express third with a score of 47.8 per cent.

Go First was deemed the ‘most hated’ worldwide because according to the study, 73.8 per cent of tweets about it were negative. In this ranking TAP Air Portugal comes second with a 68.4 per cent negativity rating and Australia’s Jetstar Airways is third with 67.5 per cent.

The study, undertaken in December 2022 by S Money, also broke the results down into regions.
